I saw her then the fleeting image Passing my vision like a ghost Framed in the light through the glass Her face stood out stark and bold Oh how i loved her then The pure untouched beauty of the grave I saw her life as clearly as my own And took her her into me body and soul Yet when it was over done and gone The yearning left me my love died All i was diminished in a flash to naught She was gone princess of the past I think of her still my one my love She has become less as the years go As my age has caught me my mind goes Yet her spirit remains with me still. Pride of place in the human race goes to one without a trace, of subtlety style ego or grace for this position, I wish to say, i would be proud as i am greater than any other face in the crowd |
