There lives an angel surrounded by darkness
Do not fear-
His dark brow or his wings that shine like obsidian
He lives there choosing to help souls that fall
Burned by the brightness
He catches them before they fall past his dark realm
Into the pit, the abyss of despair.
He cradles them in his arms and carries them up
Into the shadows.
He breathes life back into their bodies that have grown
cold and numb.
And he supports them as he lifts them up,
pressed back into the light.
As their body warms,
He teaches them how to see again in the light.

Who is the true sense of Angel?
Those who stay in the light and cast out souls into the dark.
Or, those who live in the dark and cast out souls into the light.

I think someone who catches someone and puts them back into the light is the true angel. Great job! If only these angels were among us! Wow! I'm in awe!

This is good. . .

I love the line, "the true sense of Angel", it makes being an Angel equal with the other senses. . . has anyone ever had, the "sense of Angel?"

And Starboards. . . who says that these Angels aren't among us? You may be talking to one right now. . .

Most would not name one who lives in shadows an Angel, nor would most take their hand if offered it. This is a wonderful poem my friend and a wondrous slice of your soul.
