As A Young Woman As a young woman I heard the cries As a young woman I heard the words raised in anger A young child trapped in the family of cruelty The child growing into a cruel young man Hard slaps across his tear streaked face Anger hidden in mischievous deeds Boating with friends one young man drowning Mysterious death still an open case In the same family of the dead young man A mother is abducted in a parking lot Throat cut case still open As a young woman I heard the cries As a young woman I heard the words raised in anger Hard slaps across the face Knocking across a car seat with strangling force The young man stutters, head bowed low Moves from the old neighborhood Suicide is his release His father turns his hatred onto the neighborhood Lawyers coming into view Letter of a lawsuit if hatred does not cease His anger bottled, chained as if to an iron wall Stroke His anger hitting him with all its power Unable to walk, unable to talk, living in a home As a young woman I heard the cries As a young woman I heard the words raised in anger As a young woman I cried. Oh my, Bon-Bon. This is so sad. I hope that it's just writing. You wrote it so real. Hugs to you, Ethel |

Sad to say but this poem is based on my neighborhood and a family that lived next door. The one boy did drown and his mother was killed in Kroger parking lot. The father who was so mean did have a stroke and his boy committed suicide. Life can be so sad. Bon-Bon |
