I take the key to all my pain and lock it in the vault Hoping it will somehow hide that this was all my fault But I cannot escape my guilt, the key won’t disappear It whispers deep within the vault, the message loud and clear: “Open up your eyes, girl, please wipe away these streams You can not forget him; he will suffocate your dreams” But in my desperation I begin to runaway Hoping that each step I take will bury yesterday But as I run from all these things, the key, the vault, and you I’m only rediscovering; I’ve brought you with me, too. Annie Shadow, This powerful stuff! I hope in facing these lines of poetry, the things you have been running from are now beginning to become surmountable: - 'But as I run from all these things, the key, the vault, and you I’m only rediscovering; I’ve brought you with me, too.' Best wishes! Jon |
