Through the segue of sky
to where do you go
dear heart, as my eyes
stay eluded in their effort
to track your nightflight;

losing their easter bonnets,
the trees succumb
to the onset of darkness,
wearing now a universal color,
as the hues of the falling sun
paint a liquid stream
through the horizons
that beckon your return,

to whom does your song
now awaken or soothe
to slumber, as a whisper
of you still remains
on the marigolds that
repose like sleepy children
on beds of anticipation,
pinning their prayers on the
returning silvergull to break
the haze of morning's uncertainty

Oh, I do enjoy poems with a twist of Zen...
You have captured that "twist" here..

"the trees succumb
to the onset of darkness,
wearing now a universal color,
as the hues of the falling sun
paint a liquid stream
through the horizons
that beckon your return,"

The 'universal color" (all is everything)
and "the liquid stream" is what homogenizes that everything, that "all" (return)ing again in a cyclic fashion

And here....

"...like sleepy children
on beds of anticipation,
pinning their prayers on the
returning silvergull "

We must learn from the children to patiently await the "silvergull"
