While driving down a country road,
With windows all turned down,
Fresh spring air, came rolling in,
As I merrily drove along.

I felt so free and happy,
With nary a care in the world,
Just rolling along the countryside,
Just being a country girl.

Horses were romping in paddocks,
Roosters were chasing hens,
Goats leapt white picket fences,
And pigs were rolling in pens.

Corn grew as high as the silos,
Steers were as big as a moose,
Sheep were as plump as pillows,
Fluffy bunnies hopped about loose.

The farm houses looked so inviting,
With tall elms lining each drive,
And seeds sowed lovingly in fields,
Became crops that flourished and thrived.

Fresh daisies were smiling in sunlight,
Field canaries came flitting by,
Wheat shafts were waving and golden,
Against blue, cerulean sky.

I saw pictures perfect as Rockwells,
As I passed down the country road,
I cast off the city slicker,
And donned a country mode.

I stopped at the edge of a forest,
And sat by an old oak tree,
I was humbled by its strength of presence,
And I let go ~ to simply "Be".

I became at one with my breathing,
Soon noting the ease of its flow,
Filling me with nature's essence,
An inner peace began to grow.
