In the woods, the deep dark woods, where the sun has never shone, Lived the fairy princess Chandra, where she lived a waif alone, Amongst the roots and fallen leaves, no one to hold her hand, Or give a hug, dry fairy tears, to help her understand, The things a princess, a fairy princess, must learn to be a queen, And so she lived, forever young, in the darkened woods unseen, Except by creatures of the dark, who gazed from limbs above, Down on the roots and fallen leaves, on a princess without love. I heard this story from my mother, so many many years ago, She never told me what became of the fairy princess though, So to this day when I pass woods, I often think I might, Enter in to deep dark trees, beyond the reach of light, To find a princess, but I don't, I know not the reason why, Except perhaps I fear to hear, a fairy princess cry. |

I love it Fisherman. Rhyming narrative is my weakness and here you tell a fine story indeed. Tony :-) |

"And so she lived, forever young, in the darkened woods unseen, Except by creatures of the dark, who gazed from limbs above," Excellent poetic craft. A friend worked on the Chandra satellite and described it in very similar words. Sometimes myth weaves with reality to form a tapestry. |
