Romance…How you would roll your eyes The sieving of communication is all sport At one point I found myself running circles in the grass Silent in my serenade to fireflies upon their evening pass And then, I realized that you had simply slipped beyond the shade Standing there in camouflage and pondering dismayed Stewing on screened porches feigning ignorance to flaming torches And so I closed my eyes, just as I had seen you do, to my surprise And you watched me…I could feel your stare As if my stand defenseless, yet I felt you settled there Transported us to pleasured speak of joist and woodsy built mystique More vivid did romance hum…more vivid did your truth become And softer was your voice, closer to my hear, upon your turn to find me near You sped to blend into the green of misconception…first the tears came, then connection Enthralled to find you next to me upon my waking, wondering what chance worth taking Romance…How you would roll your eyes Copyright Kkh 4/24/04 |
