It’s dirty,
and you’re dirty too.

I’ll have none of that filth in my house
(except for in designated television viewing areas, for
example: the living room, kitchen, bedroom, laundry room,
bathroom, shower, and don’t forget the garage or the 15inch screen in the car. However, you’ll find that garbage no where else in my house.)

Television is a pimp-in-a-box right there in our own homes,
has the means to entertain you for hours;
just have to turn it on,  and hand over the cash.
                                          (I know Comcast ain’t gonna
have to killa beetch,  where’s my
                                                 money?)

Movies are nothing more than porn for the imagination.

Like perverted teenagers we flock into theaters,
cinemas are the mental burlesque houses of the day.

You can keep your infections, or don't,
cause’condoms can’t prevent an MTD.

Woot. Nothing real critical on this one. I can say you definately nailed your target to the wall, though. Nice read. Very acidic, very snide. I enjoyed it.

I believe the most important component of a poem is rhythm. Rhythm is the heartbeat of a poem. It is what makes poetry poetry.

I walk with your shadow
With your silhouette
Leave the light on
It always comes
Back to you

Interesting write, reminds me of a great Rage Against the Machine against the american entertainment industry:

The main attraction, distraction
got ya number than number than numb
Empty your pockets son, they got you thinkin that
What you need is what they're selling
Make you think that buyin is rebelling

From the theaters to malls on every shore
The thin line between entertainment and war
The frontline is everywhere, there be no shelter here

Speilberg the nightmare works so push it far
Amistad was a whip, the truth was feathered and tarred
Memories erased, burned and scarred
Trade in your history for a VCR

Cinema, simulated life, ill drama
Fourth Reich culture, Americana
Chained to the dream they got ya searchin for
The thin line between entertainment and war

There be no shelter here
The frontline is everywhere

Hospitals not profit full
Yet market bulls got pockets full
To advertise some hip disguise
View tha world from American eyes
The poor adore keep fiending for more
The thin line between entertainment and war
They fix the need, develop the taste
Buy their products or get laid to waste
Coca-Cola is back in the veins of Saigon
And Rambo too, he got a dope pair of Nikes on
Godzilla pure ************ filler
To keep your eyes off the real killer

Cinema, simulated life, ill drama
Fourth Reich culture, Americana
Chained to the dream they got ya searchin for
Tha thin line between entertainment and war

American eyes, American eyes....
View the world from American eyes
Bury the past, rob us blind
And leave nothing behind

Just stare

Relive the nightmare

passing shadows

I loved this
television is a MTD but for some it's also a sleeping pill that's administered visually.

Nice writing...I find myself watching TV less and less and listening to music and the radio more and more...what is obscene is an actor making twenty million dollars for making a movie and us paying eight dollars watching it...how many normal people make twenty million in a lifetime...James

I absolutely loved this.  I haven't been around here in a while but I'm glad I came back.  What a wonderful thought out work of art.

Life is what you make it.  Live each day as if it was your last.
