ALWAYS WITH A SCAR ON MY SOUL

For all that I have lost...for all that I long to be
I look for a light...I look for anything
I find comfort in the night...I find life in my dreams
I look for my place yet all I feel is empty
...but always with a scar on my soul

What do I run from...who do I run to
I feel the ache in my heart with or without you
I hang in the valley and walk this earth
To fill my senses to find my entire worth

I talk to the heaven...I cry to him above
I laugh behind a mask just to cover it up
I smile in the rain and I give thanks to the sky
I hold up the mountain... though with saddened eyes

I try to hold on...I try to let it go
I've lived to be loved; a love I may never know
You may have the power but I breathe the air
I can close my eyes but you'll always be there
...but always with a scar on my soul

I walk through the seasons...they walk with me
I give of my gifts and love individually
I live the moments and remember stories told
I love the best I can...but always with a scar on my soul
