Flashes illuminate hidden clouds darkened by the
swell of rains aching to plummet earthward.

Distance hushes the unheard clap, uncounted
miles await the slightest reverberation...quiet
stills the trees, leaves turned skyward, mouths
open, thirsting.

A sudden signaling gust swirls leaves against
the fence.  Huddling birds brace in anticipation of the
humid forces of nature.   On darkened wings,
the muted messenger stealthily soars.

A storm brews beyond the edge of earth as
darkness gives way to a panorama of electricity...
blinking the eye, so captivating, yet chilling,
humbling.

Soon, yes....very soon the thirst of the land shall
be quenched and morning shall bring once again
the calm of a waking day as dew trickles from the
pointed ends of soft grasses and birds watch
in anticipation of a tasty meal, squirming to be
free, to till the soils once again.

You captured the essence of a storm so well that I felt a shiver in anticipation.  I love storms and you've delivered a fine one.

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.
