Bringing awareness into focus can often be a chore; there is no more telling secret than knowledge, the blinding urge to run. We face a choice in this country, to survive, or to be torn apart by wolves hunting in packs, the politicians lacking heart and focus fear free people absent the understanding that each country is a unique blending of all its human souls, that there is no inherent right or wrong when words used in definition are restricted. I believe there will come an age, a time when human evolution will have passed the vital telling marker on the road that brings awareness and final global peace; we won't see it in this coming vote, nor will any living eyes ever for at least a hundred generations, with some luck a little less most likely something more. The path is strife and hardship not false humility; the answer is not politics without substance, belief without a core; the human soul is self-deterministic; we should not shuffle, not be ashamed of our accomplishments, in 400 years on this continent we did great harm, but greater good; we need not wear some off-shore weaving of false humility, nor beg hat in hand forgiveness for our successes. We are human; we are flawed; it is strength that bears the load. We will not be deceived by thinking we've met the Buddha on the road. ©2004 by icebox |

I said this once before in a reply and although the author understood my intent, he worried that others might think I was attacking him, but it suits here as well: "If you meet the Buddha on the road, KILL him." I have missed your wisdom, m'friend. And? nod...voting may be a lame expression, but I think I'll do it anyway. you just keep telling it like it is and I'll keep smiling atchoo. hugs |

And here I thought we were on the razor's edge -- well, I think at least some are. Do you really think it will take that long? Very much enjoy reading your words. .....jo |

Icebox I've missed your wise words, my friend, and was so glad to see this tonight. "We are human; we are flawed; it is strength that bears the load." The above is only one piece of truth I picked from this poem. |

Icebox, I see much insight in your words and a thoughtful heart. Such consideration of our situation is needed should we not suffer as so many empires in the past have, that of the fateful decline. Gad but that we could just embrace one another, both our differences and our similarities. I shall hope that you continue to share your views and I shall continue to consider them. Susan . Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you. Joy is a state of mind. |

Icebox - what is the price of wisdom? I think some of us are paying dues without knowing how much interest is being charged. But your words are wise, my friend, and perhaps your dues are being put in a savings account for your benefit. |

You always blow me away. Sometime when you are in my neck of the woods we are going to go have a drink...you will talk and I will listen. "cast me gently into the morning, for the night has been unkind" |

As usual, reading you inspires and deepens, my friend...although, I must admit, licking the razor's edge played havoc on my tongue... (see if I walk your path anymore!) Much-o enjoyed this... jwesley |

I've been saying for a couple of years now that we (humans)are on the cusp of something... whether or not that "something" is wonderful would depend on what we do with this most recent opportunity to de-claw intolerance. But? what do I know? I'm a frickin' hermit. Namaste |
