Unfurled umbrage floating there
down the stream to anywhere.
My vision lies upon your veins
you hold me sure in float of rain.

I thank you leaf for easy ride
upon life’s stream you float despite
distance from your motherhome.
I cherish riding with your roam.

“I’ve worn you well,” Aspen’s profess.
“Now, off you go my gossamer dress.”
You’ve quivered in your elegance
and shivered out my recompense.

Great Spirit of the mountain high,
I thank you for the view of eye.
I thank you trees for gift of thee
unfrocked to float toward eternity.

Oh, Jo...a special light in the library for you, and this...this most special gift.

I cannot tell you how I feel about this beautiful poem just now...

you're just going to have to believe in faith, sweetie...

"Great Spirit of the mountain high,
I thank you for the view of eye."

Yes, indeed, and your eyes know a gem when you see one...in nature and in Sunshine. Wonderful write.
Thanks to all the kindred spirits.

Sincerely,
Reg

To see the quaking aspens shimmering in the sunlight was always a favorite of mine.  Your words blessed me with a fond rememberance.  And the beauty of the thought of the drifting leaf, very nice.

Muchos gracias to all!  I wrote this after reading Sunshine's adventures in Colorado -- so I had to credit her inspiration.   .....jo
