In Your Poetic Mind

0 posted 2004-06-29 09:14 PM

These days my dreams
are colored with grey hues --
no matter how time has passed,
from stones to fire the void  is never full
our faith aligned   in different stars

I hold no regrets, until evening blends
my thoughts into a pattern of black,

I wish for colors of dusk,       in woven
fabrics, and orchestras of sound,
but the logic of wind    blows them silently apart,

Like fireflies   they remain untouchable

We have moved into history
a river, slowed by many bends

I use  to hear their    soft whispers
every breath    every movement
such  silent weavers

{but} this world is not
quiet tonight

fires are burning
    the sand is heavy
the clocks are loud

Another fading of petals
will leave this house
in shades of solitude

I watched the moon trace
   the floor with jaded  eyes
looking for reason, and thoughts of
hope---nothing,

light a cigarette, and watch the ashes fall
  a tapestry with no meaning

I sometimes think of you
   in windows
but can’t remember the color of
your eyes--

holding a mirror    close
   I can’t remember who I am--
separated earth and sky
realm to realm

Don’t speak again your words,
love should never be hard

the wall remains

{I laid down and cried}

torn

my heart is empty

light dances in droplets
of rain

my hands,  still   with ache

there are tears on
pages,   smearing
the lyrical flowers
pressed    in kaleidoscope connections

even the ravens lift their
alters of    purity

I look at this empty place:
where once we spent
nights in conversation
memories
of night pushing back the dawns

they too arise on angel’s
wings    flooding the horizon

clear as water and un-tearful

Tonight darkness  will
     steal moonlight
and I will try to catch

the reflection

There's a place I like to hide-open your mind to me-Visualise your dream- Record it in the present tense, I am smiling next to you, in silent lucidity

Lauren, I truly am going back to read your poem again. I know of such nights but never in my wildest imaginings could I have described those feelings as well as you have now done...

Like fireflies   they remain untouchable

~*~

It is possible to contain
a firefly
for a brief moment...

as you have done, throughout your life...

~*~

But there is no giving up, even in the darkest light, ever.  There is turning away, turning aside, and turning down...but there is never a giving up, in someone who cares as much as you do.

How do I know this?

I have seen inside your poet's heart.

I have also seen inside your love.

~ The convoluted twists and turns can slow many a river...

~ I told you the truth when I said that I was going back to read your poem again!

you've answered your own questions dear poetess...

still... I know how hard to come by the answers are when we have to live with-in the questions.

love you L-girlie

Simply amazing.

outstanding write of the sorrow of lose, and yet, through all of our loses comes some logical answers, if we are brave enough to search our own wants and heart.

Bless you in your hours of need.
