Upon mine virgin tongue I taste thy brine, As tears doth fall from thy wanton eyes. If thou shouldst but give from love, not loins of lust, Then ye wouldst never need wail in pine. If thy passions stemmed from deepest part of soul, I wouldst unfold mine sacred self to thy seeking hands, Giving of mineself with the proffer of thy bands, And we wouldst join as one as bells do toll. But I be not fooled, by liquid pools, That weaken maids less fair than I. With strength of pride, and virtues high, Without respect, my passion cools. |

Oh, Linda, BRAVO -- absolutely on the money with this one! Now, I've a challenge for you....can one work without the other, in other words love with celebacy? for example: If thou shouldst but give from loin of lust, not just silent care, Then ye wouldsnt never need wail in pine I wouldst know you knew I there. |

Love is of all emotions, one of them being lust...to want to give a most sacred and precious gift of self, to someone you love is the ultimate union. surely not shared with everyone, but saved for one, very special person. Where have those concepts gone in todays world? Big smiles and hugs....lovely poem. |
