Remember Me

Grief is not the end for us

It is arrogant, but not omniscient

It cannot know
The power of love
Or understand
That I stand with you
Until the end of time
Though I can touch only your heart
Feel me clasp your hand

It is not omnipotent

Nothing can stop
Stars from singing
Against a velvet sky
Or hush the birds
Greeting another day
I won’t be pushed from your side
Hear me whisper my love

You do not owe it obedience

When it tries to steal your will
Treat it as the petty thief it is
And fling the pickpocket away
It will surely return
But you’ll be stronger every day

However obstinate
It needs permission
To obliterate
Do not cower in its presence
Grief cannot end what a miracle began

Remember we are more
Than flesh and bone
And though you now feel all alone
I am only a breath away

And I am yours forever

Breathtaking...these are somewhere out beyond good...book material, if this trend continues. I'm proud of you, Laura -- your growth as a writer is a beautiful thing to watch.

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.

These were beautiful. Truly they were.

Enjoyed these and appreciated the uplifting of the spirit in the finale.

PS: Thank you! *S*

Ratleader: I've never had my name and book mentioned in the same sentence... unless someone was asking about one I'd just read. *S* Thank you, my friend... any growth is directly attributable to the encouragement I've received. *S*

Martie: Your kindness makes this wrung-out feeling worthwhile. *S* Thank you so much!!

Enchantress: I'm so glad you enjoyed! *S* This is one of my favorites... if only because the muse let me play a bit, too... I've been feeling like a stenographer! LOL Thank you so much! *S*

Simply Gold: I can't tell you how much I thank you... or hope this IS the finale! LOL

iliana: There was a time when I couldn't have written this one... whether wisdom or simply belief... I'm glad that time is gone. *S* Thank you so much!!!

EA: I appreciate you always cheering me on more than I can possibly say... I appreciate you seeing the best in me even more. *S* Thank you, my friend... very much. *S*

You have no idea how this series has touched my heart.  Those we have lost are really only a wish away, and sometimes we need a reminder to simply wish, and they are there.  You my dear lady have created something in this series that should be shared by all those who are about to grieve, are grieving, or have never grieved, for it does truly express the sequence of feelings so well.

this series is some of your best writing, and that says a lot, for you have some great ones standing
you know how closely they touch, I just hope you know how powerfully they are written
