When I Depart

when I depart
someday
some
day

before I drift
away into the
jade and opal
waves of
forever

do me this
parting
gift
your eyes
in my last
moments

look
into me
again
touch spirit
let your
eyes

as close as
this
close as
love
whisper
into me
as they do
now

let them be
the last
thing
I will
see

A passionate plea and beautiful as a sigh, but oh so sad.

Your forever is beautiful...but I hope the eyes keep you grounded for a long and happy life.

Sincerely,

Even as my eyes fill with tears, they blink with amazement and appreciation for your incredible images. *S*

This is one of your best, my friend... more... it's one of THE best I've ever read. *S* Poems just don't get more loving... or lovely. *S*

But if you can delay that departure another 60-70 years or so... I'm sure many of us would be grateful??? *G*

This is sorrowful to me, for it makes me think of looking into my mother's eyes as she faded and was lost to me.

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.

When it is my turn to depart this lovely life, I hope to have someone take the time to rock me in a big 'ole rocking chair and lull me to sleep. That would be leaving this world as I came, knowing the love that kept me. enjoyed, "late"
