Beyond My Skin

looking back
I see I didn’t judge
the distance quite right
depth perception
has never been
my strong suit
it wasn’t until
after you were gone
that I realized
how deep in me
you actually were

Really good play on words, Helen.  I hope the hurting does last too long.

But as they fade in the rear view, remember the note that's on it....objects in mirror are closer than they seem. Sometimes if we stop a little, back a little....though sometimes not....
