From Comely Flowers

From comely flowers we encourage growth,
That in days to draw nigh might never fail,
Fetching leaflets and nosegay speak an oath,
Delicate garlands growing in the dale:

Nourish this hunger this want we concede,
But the seasons proposed from their keen eyes,
That all things must wither, yea they must bleed,
Making a shortage where profusion lies.

Thusly art blossoms but a passing flash,
Resplendent harbingers of fleeting spring,
For but a moment the colors may splash,
Then to naught more then memories we cling.

I recall the green of a youth now passed,
Alas retrospection leaves me aghast.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!
