On the tiger walk
where the grass was high,
no one knew
how many would die before the morning's light;
all we knew
was our cause was just,
our hearts were pure,
and we were sure
we'd take their own fight to them on their most holy night.

War is horror
wired in the collective human soul,
fertile ground
drawing in every type of parasite.

War is not a process;
it marks the end
of any process whereby arguments are settled
without blood.

My friend, it is hard to know what to say to this.

Yes, yes, yes.  We are in solidarity.  I fundamentally agree with the tone and message of your poem.  We did not ask for this.  God bless those who choose, without regret, to protect our common ideals and values.  You have stated so eloquently the obvious that many choose to ignore.  It takes one of open-mind and brilliance to see clearly through these desperate days.  Well done, and a very bold, true write.

I like Truman's quote and I think it fits here.  "I don't give you Hell.  I give you truth, and you think it's Hell.

Best regards to you,

Kevin

Can't say enough about the title...

or the writing.

You kick butt!

Well written. Let no man or nation undermine our spirit of humanity. Sigh

Sir, yes sir.  You speak truth.

The necessary horror....which only winning can end. But that's the key, isn't it? To end it in the world and then the true quest, in ourselves. I hope someday you will be able to....and that I will too.

I read this when first posted, then promptly forgot to reply...lol.  So, I'm here to ammend my mistake and let you know that I appreciate the message very much.
