Shell mates…a category unconventional
Yet company worth keeping most intentional
In waters two…tucked deep within each other
In rock of shore, protected frames by wrap and cover

Most simple ways defy the storms full wrath
To shape and figures sum in heavens math
As pearls in covet of a velvet purse
To lie upon the waves in earnest to converse

And trade of souls delight upon the lullaby of night
As innocent as born to be the let of know and far of see

Shell mates… conservative of nets preclude
Sea sounds that drown in intimate beatitude
That rocks enchanted worlds in ways of primal power
Where nothing can disturb or taint each given golden hour

To know another in as much as they will let you in
A moment or a lifetime does not make the close of friend
Intention keys the lock of lack to spread the carpet red
Acceptance gathers up the lost and fills the gaps not said

And love, that few will ever know the buoy and the latch
Shell mates…return to open arms, there harbor with their catch

This is so true, bravo.

Wonderful Kathleen...I am in awe of your talent.
Hugs~

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back

I do so enjoy your work and this brought the sea to my minds eyes.

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.

Insight is so beautiful as your poetry.
