Sometimes I wonder,
Do I feel too much?

Is it wrong to love
with such a love
that your heart might burst
just from the sheer wealth of it?

Is it wrong to want
with such a want
that you just might drown
beneath the torrential flood of it?

I feel-

Sometimes such
that I fear the ache of it
that I am bound by the weight of it

I feel-

my very breath is filled with it
my veins flow in the heated rush of it
I am branded by the touch of it

I feel.

Susan,
Yup, you got passion down pretty good. Nice.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

I feel love that deeply as well....
as though your heart may burst.
Lovely write.

Larry & Nancy Lee, thanks for your replies.  I was thinking about how much a friend means to me, how important he is, and how overwhelming the feelings of love can be.  I feel it with my Husband, my daughter, my family, and my friends.  It is sometimes frightening, yes?  Sometimes I do feel I might just burst from the ache of it.  Amazing passion, love.

Susan,
You pegged my character with this poem, too.  Sometimes I just want to jump out of my skin because I'm so passionate about people.  I can hardly contain it all.

Susan, this is one of the most overwhelming wonder of our sensations, and you "nailed it!"  I feel that way about my family to the point it creates this feeling I can't even describe way down deep inside causing a tremor, been there?

Excellent write, you made me feel the passion I once had all over through a memory.

Sadelite & Mysteria;

It is nice to be among kindred spirits.  Thank you for your replies.  I know that you too know what it is I speak of, and this is a comfort to me, to be amongst those who understand how intense it can be to "feel".

Hugs to you both -- Susan

I don't think we can feel too much -- we always grow from it if allowed.  Beautifully done, Susan!   ....jo

Yes and no....we can feel too much, or maybe it's that the things we feel affect us too much. Either way, there have been times of late when I'd have paid pure gold to be able to turn mine down, or in some cases, off entirely.

Thank you for your replies, kind poets.  Yes, it is ture, emotion makes a poet and at most times it quite the blessing, still, I sometimes wish the feelings I feel of the heart were not quite so intense.  As passing shadows comments, which would be worse?  Still, I think I'll choose the passion.  I have seen those who feel little and it seems rather empty.

So many of us worry this...feeling as if we are fragile and vulnerable to our own sense of love and passion...and we are. It's inevitable, lovely, feminine and masculine, spiritual and sinful, it is to be human on a much deeper level. Thank you for reminding me.

Sincerely,
Reg

Jaime --- aaaaaw, thanks

Reg, yes.  You stated it well.  It does make one feel fragile.  Thanks for your reply.

I agree that it is better to feel passionately than not to feel at all, to love with all you have, to the point of bursting.. of course.

You certainly stated it well here.. very good, strong write.

I know you are one who feels! It is evident by the loving warmth of your poetry and kind and thoughtful replies.

Do not be afraid to feel to the depths of the deepest ocean or to the height of the highest mountain! You are full of love and spirit and you are beautiful human being! By loving, you are expressing God's Light!

A wonderfully engaging piece of writing!

Love,
EA

Susan, I understand this so very well!! Sometimes
love hurts when we love so much. I know!!
Especially if we are apart from each other.
