Mick Dundee, in that Croc movie,
Exclaimed, "You call that a knife!?!"
Well, my friends, I'll tell you this,
"That's the story of my life!"

I must admit, I've seen a few,
Of those talk shows extraordinaire,
But honestly, what I've seen personally,
Is far beyond compare!

In your wildest imagination,
You could not dare believe,
All that I have witnessed,
Or all that's happened to me!

I've been rocked and I've been shaken,
I've been rattled and I've been rolled,
You'd roll your eyes in disbelief
At the true stories I could have told.

They say what doesn't kill us,
Can often make us stronger,
And if we rise above the chaos,
We'll likely live much longer.

If my Path had been an easy one,
One that was struggle free,
I would not have grown, as I have done,
Nor become the "I" of me.

I've lived a life of gratitude,
For the lessons from which I've learned,
And much of the happiness I now enjoy,
Has come because it's earned.

Mick Dundee, in that Croc movie,
Exclaimed, "You call that a knife!?!"
Well, my friends, I'll tell you this,
"That's the story of my life!"

Yes, I do believe you would completely understand.

Linda,
And Mick knew a thing or two about life! That was a fun write. I'd like to hear some of those tales though.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

wonderful write Linda - more of life's ambiguities - we grow from difficult times - we learn from pain - wisdom comes from lots of that - I enjoy your writing and thanks for the good words about goodknight - goodnight - Paul

Yeppers! That seems to be the Law of the Universe! I truly believe that poets tend to have more stories to tell because of all of their life experiences! Every poet has a deep well from which to draw on!

That "I" is what we're all here to find and then to become a cooperate "we" -- you do your job so well, sweet Angel, if I am permitted to say so!  A pearl of a poem, Earth Angel!     .......jo

Rick ~

Having a sense of humour is one of the tools that keeps me sane! ~ well, at least MOST of the time!

We Pipsters should all gather 'round a huge (very huge!!!) campfire recounting our life's stories! Some pretty fascinating tales we'd be hearing fer sure!

Warm hugs 'n smiles,
Linda

EARTH ANGEL,
Loving the humor and message.  A campfire of pipsters...what an idea!  (As long as we didn't have to sing and eat Broth of Sloth (but I must admit, it did smell delicious!)

There are no words you've written
That are not good to read.
One could easily be smitten
By such a mind that's freed.

Well told tale!!

I love your posts
They make me grin
I enjoyed this so,
I'll read it again!

Seriously, truth is, you've found the key.  Nurture the positive, learn from the negative.  You go girl.

P.S.  I'll show Mick a knife!  He thinks that was a knife, what till he gets a load of my bolo!

P.S.S.  Did you know that a pessimist is one who says "things can't get any worse," and the optimist says "oh yes they can!" ??
Tee hee.

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.

Sadelite ~

time prophet just informed me that sloths are on the endangered species list so I won't be able to whip up a big batch of broth of sloth for us all to sip while sitting around that Pipster tale-telling campfire!

How about some froggy fritters???

I believe it! Poets, somehow, always have the strangest lives... and because of their perception and close attention to every detail and facet of life, they always have great stories! I'd love to hear some of 'em! Overcoming trials is always the hardest thing to do...
Great Poem, Linda!

Always, Alyssa
PS. I always say things can get worse, but it'd be a far stretch to call me optimistic... I call myself a realist
