Barely a glance exchanged, yet our shadows dance the familiar steps of lovers circling this runner's trail, touching hands, interlocking hearts, we've sashayed on miles of grey asphalt, my eyes cast down in safety's embrace, unsure if yours are yet ready to receive them, nights accumulation, empty branches fill with summer's song that strums the air, sychonicity of all that fills the page in green, a final bow before all colors blacken, then fade, the stage is set the players here as i wonder how to reach you, as i wait upon this sunset view one more night, amid the flirtation of cast shadows. |
