Never really had a Father, none to speak of anyway. So there's no need to tell you to me today's no special day. No Father-Daughter dances, and I was never Daddy's girl. No shoulder there to cry on or Daddy's lap for me to curl. He didn't walk me down the isle, or bounce grandbabies on his knee. Some men never count their losses when they choose this path you see. I'm not begging for your pity, cause I think I turned out fine. But, I owe that to my Mama, the "Greatest Daddy" of all time. Remember me with a smile on your face, or please don't remember me at all. |

It sounds to me as though your gratitude, love and appreciations are being bestowed upon the rightful person! ~ your Mom! ~ and yes, Luci, you turned out just fine! Wish your Mom a "Happy Father's Day" for me as well! ![]() Love & Light, Linda ![]() |

Your Mom deserves an extra hug as you do as well. Heartfelt write. Chris Life itself is the most wonderful fairy tale. |

That is surely how it happens a lot of times. Tell your Mom that I said hello and give her a hug for me. ![]() Hugs to you too, Ethel |

this being Father's Day, I knew I'd be reading all kinds of poetic tributes to PIP'S poets' fathers...I have nothing to say about mine.....(at least nothing I would write about here for fear it may be deleted by a moderator) Im glad I read this one. |

You every eloquently stated what I was thinking as I was reading the keeper of a poem. Thank your mother. Wish her "Happy Father's Day". She was both. A person stronger, more disciplined than I. And, one that deserves to be celebrated daily. Simpy put - You should celebrate "Father's Day". You have one. She just has breasts. Nothing wrong with that. Anyone would be proud to call her a "Father". Your poetic friend, Kevin |
