+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+ Sol sistere ~ the sun stands still, Drink the ale, eat your fill. The solstice is midsummer's day, When crops are high and children play. Colours sacred, colours true ~ Golden yellow, green and blue. First day of summer, Lilith be, Leap the bonfires fancy-free. Ecstatic dancing to beat of drums, Chants and stories, songs and strums. The Sun King claims sweet Mother Earth, All gather 'round for feast and mirth. They celebrate the whole night long, Then welcome in the sun at dawn. What a beautiful poem with an almost surreal feel to it. You write so wonderfully. And, a great milestone to boot! Congratulations on your 700th. That is simply astounding. Do you remember writing them all? I have a bad habit of forgetting what I wrote 10 minutes after I write it. Never ask me to quote one of my poems. Anyway, Congratulations. Kevin ~ Thank you for your lovely response to my poem and to the milestone that it represents. My, oh, my, no I certainly do not remember writing all of them. In fact, sometimes I go into Search and bring all my poems up from the archives and read through some of the earlier ones. I often hear myself saying, "Did I write that?" ~ Then I answer back, "Probably not! It was probably one of my muses!" lol  Summer Solstice embrace, Linda |

I could grab up my flowered wreath, throw it into my hair, shed my shoes and go dancing with them. This is so vivid and joyful-- Love it.
