The clouds are gathering
Sky has gone from bright blue to dark gray
I hear the thunder in the distance
I know that this is going to be a night for chasing the pain away

The winds are picking up speed
I watch my life swirl around
No matter how hard I seem to try
I find myself falling downward...hitting the cold ground

Still like a fool I smile
What is my secret that I hold deep inside?
It's called attitude-
Life is what you make of it, that should come as no great surprise

The mood is setting fast
The sky suddenly turns a deep red
Why must people be so angry
I wish for happiness instead

So come on stormy seas
With your fierce winds and rain
For I am not scared of you
I have an antidote for pain

We can not control what happens to us
We can control what we do
It's a simple rule really
But I wanted to pass it along to you--

There are times I am so sad
I feel like just throwing it all away
