where are the wise words
of the wordsmith now?
in the face
of this dark suffering
where is the pith
of wisdom?

suddenly the heart is raw
engaged in battle
with God
enraged by the choice
of who the sufferer
should be.

if one word would ease
the pain a mite, then
how much easing would
ten thousand words gain?

would epics by score
give rise to cures of malady?
would then the poet be
the healer?

these worthless words
written
cannot take away
the pain
nor the darkness
and yet

this is all I have to offer

these words

these hollow words

speaking of faith
and
perseverance
echoing quietly
in the night

as you lay there
awake in your thoughts
waiting for
pearls of wisdom
that cannot
be
written

words fail me

my lack of words
will fail
you

but I feel your pain
‘tis often so

lay your head here
take my hand
I will share what I can
and help you
through
this night
of pain
and suffering
and darkness

I will write my poetry
with the beat
of my heart
and give to you
the poem
of life

Dear Lord!  That simply has to be enough, it truly does.  I am SO angry I can not even begin to sort it out, and yet you can write out what I too feel - so thank you.  I will add my thoughts to your prayer, and also in my own way pray it is enough.  That truly was seeing your raw pain, Sharon, and  knowing that these words came straight from the heart.

This is without a doubt, the most personal poem I've seen from you yet.

Poignant and full of your caring artistry.

More later, when I have time.

I WILL be back to this one--on the level of a jeremiad, m'lady.

awesome outpour.

How rare that you do free verse...yet we would never know...
the heart felt sincerety of this jewel is its true beauty.
Superb sharing of verse and spirit poetess Sharon.

This is, without a doubt, my favorite of everything I've read of yours (and you have some great stuff!).
It's full of compassion and heartache, but also full of the joy of friendship...
Amazing poem, Sharom... this'll go in my library.

Excellent write, I felt the questioning anger we sometimes feel towards God when we think he's not doing anything to help our loved ones in despair, pain and/or sickness...tis a human thing, to deny the divine and perhaps a test of our faith, b/c when it hits home, we cannot emotionally disconnect.  Tremendous compelling write.

Thank you all for reading. I am saddened because there are so many of our PiP friends who need comfort now.

Especially Becky. She was in my heart with I wrote this.

Sharon, words have not failed you, even tho' to you they seem inadequate. There is so much love and empathy in your poetic heart.

This prayer has reached many ears ~ and most importantly He who has Ears divine...

God bless you and your loved one.
Healing hugs,
Linda
