the sound of gulls have deceived you leaving you for the horizon and its crystalline seas you are rooted and cannot leave cemented into pebbled rock bound by the edge of land the soft-cry of fish and drowned men you envy the coral night her ability to spread upon ocean’s bed your light reaches for her open form to make visible the ships of night that enter her like a violent storm that thick heavy thrust of life alone you wait for the dawn dark angel 17th june 2004 The clouds never expect it when it rains, but the sea, changes colour, but the sea, does not change. ~Stevie Nicks~ |

I have to say I have read numerous posts authored by you and find that this, as well as others before, attest to your brilliance, and deft ability in written words. Your lines flow so fluidly. Imagery of such clarity it rivals the sunset. And, purposed selection of words that create such perfect tidings for all to appreciate. Your poem here, among others preceded, leave me in awe of your talent; ever wondering why I have not come across some of them in print. Indeed, as with others in this forum, I find your poems worthy of print. They are so thought-provoking and evocative. This is yet another timeless piece of magic. I look forward to seeing your future posts knowing that the next will rival the one before. Infinite thanks for allowing me to share in your works here. I am in awe of the raw talent, compassion, and support of this site and the hospitality of it's members. Sorry for the long post. Warm regards, respect, and solidarity, Kevin |

Yes Maree...you are so good, as the others have said. They have also used all the right words, so I'll ditto Kevo too. |

"you envy the coral night her ability to spread upon ocean’s bed" I see so many objects in life, that might mirror this desire, including people. The contrast is more of a blending...very intriguing style and conscious use of emotions that make the inanimate viable. Brava poetess. Sincerely, Reg |

Maree, If I keep following Kevin around ditto's will serve me well. I must admit that your poetry stretches my mind. And heaven knows it needs stretching. I did enjoy this poem and find much solace in the sea. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |
