the villagers formed a tight circle around us, heads bowed, hands clasped, mouths moving in sync with the priest chanting prayers for us praying for our safety back to our homeland, praying that we would have a good life and enjoy marital bliss, with kids to brighten our days we chuckled a bit there, perhaps amused at how they so matter-of-factly equate a good life with marriage and kids but most times, we remained silent to pay homage to this strange chant in foreign voices not comprehending, yet understanding enough~ this ritual was done out of love, never mind that we are greenhouse students who only spent three weeks with them for a long time after the prayers, the smiling villagers surged forward to tie yellow strings around our waists, saying that this is for our "good luck" they communicated their care, despite the language barrier I wish I were foresighted enough to think of a simple gesture in which to reciprocrate their love |

kaile, So let me get this straight. You're married? I knew you are loved by many. But now you're loved by one? Dang, and I missed it. I'd like to have been in that circle. Hope your catch was as good as what was caught. And knowing you...they know. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |
