Forever and a Day I remember you, and your precious, precious smiles… I remember you propping up your feet, on the dash of my car, and you sitting silent, arms crossed, while we drove for miles… I remember your long blond hair tucked back behind your ears, your eyes squinting, your thoughts fixed, on the coming years... I remember that movie you loved so much, that “Love Story” It had your eyes so full of tears, and I remember that winter too, oh so cold that year… I remember you being so precious to me, and yet, I failed to see us through. You and I so young, and me, the blithering fool… I am not there now to see you, or talk to you…not yet, but I do dream of holding you, and asking you, not to forget… There are many years between us, and very many miles, and I think of you every day and say: I do remember you, and your precious, precious smiles... I’ll not say I’m sorry - because I am still in love with you, I am writing this and trying so hard to say: I will always love you forever, forever and a day… |

I can promise you this, any man who is capable of writing such a beautiful poem of heartfelt love, would surely never be forgotten by the woman for which it was intended. EA |

If this is for a lady that was in your life maybe the fates will allow her to see these tender words. Good one JC Bonnie |

JL -- why is it that we don't realize what we had until many years after it's gone.....(you don't really have to answer that). Great write, I don't think you're alone on this one. |

powerfully written work in progress I don't believe any one of us do not remember those we truly loved and to, sadly took for granted at times. We all make mistakes, some little, some big but the entire music is, when it's all over, it's forgotten and we still love... Hugs my friend. |

What a wonderful write here JL... Sometimes there is a calling far beyond all time and space. You write of eternal love...a subject I have seemed to learn. TD |

Beautiful, I hope the right person gets to read this. I know these memories, and they never really let go, do they? Sandra |

JL, This was lovely. Matter-of-fact, it flowed so smoothly that I went back to see if you used rhyme. It is perfectly spoken and very easily imagined. One for the library. Sadelite |
