This definitely not country I wouldn't say....I have no idea what the hell it is but I like it long and have made the music work that way....... He went there for the whiskey She went for people time He'd been watching her for weeks Alone and looking fine He finally approached her Tried to make himself her choice Didn't know she'd answer With such an intense voice Chorus 1 "Man set your restless mind at ease Take a long look in these eyes There's nothing here for you or me To make me happy or you wise Because food for talk is all I need No cheap sex on the side." There was a tumor in his virtue And she could see it swell He knew faking sainthood Would never serve him well He changed his style to friendship And smiled a nervous smile Decided to surrender And listen for a while Chorus 2 He set his restless mind at ease Took a long look in her eyes There was nothing there that he could see That one night loving would describe And food for talk was all she'd need No cheap sex on the side She talked about that little bar All the liquor and the flesh She'd long ago decided What was worthless what was best All the men they'd come bidding With fabricated pride Thinking one night is a pardon For the loneliness they hide Bridge: Oh she touched him with a heavy wand His stars fell into order his naked fears gone He learned about real beauty left the rest behind His manhood and worries never less inclined Chorus 2 He set his restless mind at ease Took a long look in her eyes There was nothing there that he could see That one night loving would describe And food for talk was all she'd need No cheap sex on the side Ain't doin nothin at all |

Eric "Oh she touched him with a heavy wand His stars fell into order his naked fears gone He learned about real beauty left the rest behind His manhood and worries never less inclined" Now this one I could sing back-up to....and a little piano! Great write and heart. |

Well I can hear Willie singing this as sure as there is daylight Eric! It is OLD country, from when I was a kid, or let me see ... we could send it to Joni, Peter, Paul and Mary, or simply keep singing it ourselves out loud until we are discovered (yeah, right ![]() |
