Shooting Daisies I shot daisies today. Random I mean, not trying for petals or anything; the barrel’s washed out, it won’t hold that tight a pattern at a hundred feet. It’s all Loves-Me-Not anyway when you shoot the petals off. I just aimed for their heads, knocked them to yellow chaos there in the back yard. I cut the one I missed. It looks pretty in a bud vase. |

I cut the one I missed. It looks pretty in a bud vase. ouch!! prettier in its own house tho, i'd venture to say, if i were the daisy would i opt for annihilation or castration of soul to sit in a vase....hmmm got me to think |

Actually there was only one I did shoot. Felt so bad about it that in three shots I couldn't make myself hit the second. That's the one I picked. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

The real trick is to cut the stem with the shot, just where you would pick it. Then you gather them up and put them all in a vase. |

I like Sunshine's response. *S* I also like yours... in a world where false macho seems the norm and inflicting pain is too often the response to feeling it, I admire and respect the man unable to take that second shot... and willing to say so. *S* As is often the case with your work, I read this on many levels... and as always with your work, it's superb whatever depth the reader chooses to acknowledge. *S* |

there are men, and then there are real men who are not afraid to stand by their convictions and don't buckle under due to insecurities or need. Very brilliant write. |

Ed This poem makes me feel so sad. PS...the thing is...you probably shot hundreds of daisy seeds out into the yard to grow. |

Hm. You shot the daisy, but left one. From one you'll reap seeds to plant again. Hey there, have you any plans to blow away the pesty Dandelions? (They used to drive me crazy with the first few hundred Love Me, Love Me NOts! I've blown away a few myself!) Good to read your thoughts again. Sadie |
