With Passing of Time Earth lightly floats at timely pace Around a fiery crimson face And as each season reappears It counts the passing of my years With every day, my living hours Unfold and close in summer flowers And moments, like the stars, alight The still and silent black of night But years engraved a sallow place In stark reflections of my face Where time is marked and candles burned In weathered creases of concern My sorrow’s etched where teardrops seeped Across the smoothness of my cheek And pain is stagnant in my eyes Like stillness of the ebon skies Life does not measure depths of loss Or seas of grief I’ve sailed across But weighs the good and counts the wealth That rests in deepness of myself And memories profusely spread Like stars across my midnight bed Elizabeth Santos |

Liz "Life does not measure depths of loss Or seas of grief I’ve sailed across But weighs the good and counts the wealth That rests in deepness of myself" You are beautiful, inside and out! |

Very touching and I really liked the descriptions you gave to time passing -- beautiful. Susan The whole of the Universe resides within each individual heart. |

I liked this very much, Elizabeth, I thought it very poignant. I always enjoy your writing but this touched something in me that probably needs touching. I just recently tried to write a poem for my daughter, whom I just lost on April 1 in a car accident. I have yet to be able to express anything much more than that and those words were simply not enough and yet.. I think I gained some closure. \ But reading your work, I gained a little more of calm. Thank you, as always Pepper |
