How to Start … [Konrad’s Illumination]

Candlelight, it’s existence as
what a single flame is meant for,
to draw in
beauty to warmth.

I saw the moth
circle repeatedly,
closing in
toward its golden flame,
circling in gyrations
that only moths dance,
and she did, so well,
then flitted, singed, fluttering
onto the blank sheet of paper
below me.

The slightest feathering
of moth wing dust
leaving gray impressions
on an otherwise sparse layer
of linen, waiting.

Moth left me something of
herself,
as if telling me,
I had to leave something, too.

I started her poem
below the dust.

My mouth, still dry,
started filling
from the fount,
laying in wait,
waiting for words,
that were beginning to well
from within.

The gracefulness of your pen touches this page much like that bit of moth dust....you, Sunshine, are an inspiration!   ....jo

so even a moth can help us reflect what is inside, waiting to get out...
I really enjoyed this, Sunshine.  I could picture the moth dust on the linen paper!

I liken the orbits of that moth,
circling toward the certainty of light,
to each day being our orbits,
bringing us to dust.

The beauty of your phrasing
draws us, as a flame does a moth,
to your writing.

Through rubble and trouble and dark of night
The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

You know how much I enjoy the Konrad series, and this Karilea doesn't disappoint.

Absolutely fabulous Karilea..as always

====================================

the moth and the flame, are often one and the same.

(thanks for the keeper)
now this moth flits off to the next one.
