If  I had known you would return….
I would have left the light on longer
If I had known your heart was still mine…
I would not have danced,
I would not have chanced.
I would not have lived like I did.

The say “If you love someone then let them go, If they come back to you, then it was meant to be” to coin a phrase..

What if I did not know that you would return,
How do I undo a promise
A promise is a promise made…
No matter where your heart stays.

Isn’t it sad, to long for what you could have if you wanted to?

Such a sad state to experience.  Emotions well put to paper.

Very powerful words and such a sad, frustrating position well conveyed.  I understand well your present state.  How many times was I left by the wayside by one that I thought I loved, then when I find another who apreciates me, they roll right back in.  It worked once.  But then later still failed.  If they love you they understand you are human, filled with emotions and not dependent upon the unknown.  You should not have to answer to anyone, including yourself, the errors of love when not committed to another.  Shame on them for leaving questions unanswered.  Hold your head high, say this is who I am, take it or leave it, but make your decision.  And, have no regrets.  There are many pining after a good hearted woman.  Please know you have done nothing wrong.  You write beautifully.  Very talented little masterpiece up at the top of these replies.  I look forward to reading more from you.  Sorry for the long reply.

Warm regards to you my fellow Texan,

Kevin
