Unseen, unheard and not believed,
the victim's plea was not received.
As no one saw, no pledge was given
and no one cared that she was driven
from the home she knew and loved;
within her world, was pushed and shoved

Unknown, unkempt and unexplained -
a victim of the state was trained;
she had no life and none who cared
or held her close when she despaired.
Refuse, from a time gone bad;
at first she cried and then went mad

A hidden doll with shattered skin
and no one there; 'cept well within
with guilt to bear and nothing more
destroyed inside, no even score
to the state she came and stayed -
now nothing's left; her soul is flayed

She looked for help but found none there
and naught to keep her from despair;
a vile child with no love lost
it went to bear her pain, this cost
a victim of both home and state
now, with no one, can she relate

For she was sent to hell in shame;
though not her guilt, she bore the blame.
Behavior turned and all was spent
before the time of this lament
once held within the dark she grew
and threw away the good she knew

Then life had changed, as change it must
she killed the keepers of her trust
they locked her up, withheld the key;
all in the name of their safety.
But who had come to save this child?
Untamed, unloved and now grown wild

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

I read this last night and it left me stunned, exceptional writing Lynne, absolutely!

It does seem that some never have a chance.

This is powerful, my friend... it grips the heart and won't let go... but that's good... for only by caring can change be brought.

Excellent write!!

Beloved one, oh my how this rips into my soul, no one can show the suffering of a soul in torment as well as you. No one has this self-same ability to give a voice to those who are unheard, and silent, you gift them a key, which will open the door. You illumine their desperate lives and they will be seen in all the dirty and unhappy soil in which they struggle to survive.

How can anyone who reads this leave and not be changed, your words will have shown the depths some live on in, and I applaud your ability to do so. Thank you beloved for the torch you’ve lifted to bear light for the unsung and unloved, they can’t speak for themselves for they have no voice. YOU have raised awareness, you’ve given them a chance to speak. The story they tell is sad, it’s dark and full of sorrow. Its one we often, too often, refuse to hear, but hear it we must if we are to aid and succour those that need us most.

Your writing is amazing and awesome and I’m constantly stunned by your ability. Shine on star, and light my sky always

Love you always
and forever
