Poet Of Many Faces By Paul Wilson Thanks Sunshine For The Inspiration The kiss of dawn on my face brings forth a new day Suddenly I pause for a moment with this thought What mask will I wear today… what roll will I play Reaching into my grab bag of names for one sought Maybe I’ll be the happy go lucky dreamer Writing about that perfect place or perfect love With change of mask I could be an evil schemer Or write those heavenly words praising God above Should I wear the mask of Poe and write nevermore To fill my quill with blood of those now departed The Raven calls Lenore...calling her evermore How did this get started...I mourn for the departed The tranquil sea is our home… with it we are one Together we sail into the sunset each day Sharing dreams of love and a life we’ve just begun The mask of Browning might fit well my muse today Tomorrow comes quick as yesterday now departs Bringing with it a grab bag of new names to use Perhaps today I’ll just write me and touch your hearts With sad words and teardrops shed about child abuse The kid in me still comes out every now and then Bringing a smile to sad faces covered with tears Sharing stories and laughter from my heart again Hoping somehow I can help them forget their fears The kiss of dawn on my face brings forth a new day Suddenly I pause for a moment with this thought Which mask will I wear today…what roll will I play Reaching into my grab bag of names for one sought Of all the names I could use to write my poetry And all the disguises and mask I could wear The one I choose is no secret to you and me I’m just a simple man trying to write with flair ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ Paul [This message has been edited by Paul Wilson (06-04-2004 03:29 PM).] |

Linda...Thank you so much for your kind thoughtful words. While trying to sleep last night the idea came to me that we often wear mask or disguises when writing different types of poetry for whatever reason, but in the end we are still just ourselves.
