Brighter Blue and Green The grass seems greener on my rise It always strikes me with surprise It is not greener this I know It’s only mind that makes it so The sky seems bluer each days rise It always strikes me with surprise It is not bluer this I know It’s only mind that makes it so All things to me seem more intense Each day to me tweaks more suspense It seems to me a sweeter smell The bells ring out a sweeter knell And tasting odors wash my mind A youth of waste, a youth so blind That let myself so far adrift Beyond the near of daily gift No solace that I’m not alone It seems a state we all bemoan. |
