It takes me by surprise
heart’s music on a quiet night
dancing on my jangled nerves and pain...
Why this music late at night
I need to sleep and cry
emotions stir...
the elements, bitter and sweet
dance together
in the moment...
Pains emerge from skin and heart
and sway and lurch
to the music...
My head observes
and tries to quiet
but they dance
to the surprise
of music that fills the quiet of the night
when I’m missing you

lots of poeple hearing that song...fortunatly the pain fades though slowly.seems fullmoons seem to excite that band, lol. here's hoping your expressive write brings you closer to hearing a new and happier tune.

Live like it's your last day...
Dance like nobody's watching...
Love like you've never been hurt...

Thanks, friends.  What a difference it made in my perspective just writing it down...like tuning in a different station...and yes, the moon has a definite influence!  ~K~

Yes.....those surges that come unbidden, for one who is far away. It's not that they make us hurt, they somehow make us glad to have at least the memory and the hope that goes with it. You've caught the moment so well.

This is excellent!!! You've written something familiar to many of us... with a freshness that makes the missing even more powerful.
