"You should try and see your aura
in the bathroom mirror."

In reflection

I never planned to see my own.

Me?
never so good
at keeping eyes open
long enough

to see that which I believe is real

for it's true colours.

Having slept through
a thousand blinks

using

every

last

one

to close vision
and forget...

I'm so unsure of my capabilities

in sight and recognition

after all I misread.

"I saw mine, brushing my teeth."

Kin
we share blood
but from where do you own such soul?

I'm a million miles behind you

So often
these days,

you make me feel like trying

to live like I never have

to touch crystals
and carry minerals

to set them upon the sill

and capture the kind of light
I should be made of.

~~~
He makes me scheme for hope
to trace its edges
and spy upon its layers
unrecognised.
Alone
and together
I frequent the idea
of white washing every wall
for a start.
~~~

Who is to say what light we should be made of?
