For Teddy - I Thought of You |

Scrubbing cabinets and floors, listening to my hubby snor, I rinsed the rubbish from my mop and thought I would take a flop. But when I did I couldn’t rest. Those cobwebs shook had made a mess. I thought of you. I wondered if you ever found some peace beneath the hollowed ground. I questioned why you had to die, then closed my eyes, let out a sigh. And then I heard a bird outside Singing songs that made me cry. I thought it you, Telling me that life goes on And if there’s courage, there’s a song with words of peace to pass along: "It comes with how we live our lives and touch each other without lies. It comes with courage to be true." Today, my love, I thought of you. |

Thanks, Susan. I was thinking about my first puppy love today. His name was Teddy, and he died from Lukemia the year after he graduated from high school. I appreciate your post. [This message has been edited by iliana (06-01-2004 12:53 AM).] |

Telling me that life goes on And if there’s courage, there’s a song with words of peace to pass along: "It comes with how we live our lives and touch each other without lies. Such wise words you have written down, I'm so glad you thought of Teddy, and let him inspire you in the nicest way. iliana, thank you for this, I can picture you there, (I do that too) drawing upon old memories, and holding them close, with love. |

Bluesy, thanks for your sweet post. Teddy was a special guy -- he touched me in the sweetest way with his truthful approach to life and being himself against all opposition. He was kind of a nonconformist but not to the detriment of others -- and a blessing to those who knew him. ....jo |

Thanks, Sadie. He was the most honest of all the guys I ever knew when he broke up with me. You know, he told me that Time Would Not Let Him Wait For Me. He was in a rock bank his senior year and they played at a dance I went to. He sang, Time Won't Let Me straight in my eyes. Somehow, I knew then, it wasn't because he didn't care for me -- he was telling me the truth in the best way he knew. |

I can't wait forever Even though you want me to I can't wait forever To know if you'll be true Time won't let me (oh, no) Time won't let me (oh, no) Time won't let me...ee...ee...ee [1: Wait that long (repeat intro 1X; to Verse 2)] [2: Wow! (to solo)] [3: Wait that long (to coda)] Can't you see I've waited too long To love you, to hold you in my arms Ahhh...ahhh...ahhh...ah! [repeat verse 1] [repeat chorus] (CODA)...long It won't let me wait that long (wait, wait, wait, wait that long) - BG vocals continue to end Hear me baby waitin' that long Take me back, I'm comin' back right now Hear me baby sayin' I'm comin' home I'm comin' home, oh hear me talkin', pretty baby Don't you know I'm comin' back to you, oh! Oh pretty baby, take me back, I'm comin' back Open up your arms and take me back, a-here I come [fade] thanks for a sweet reminder, and my how you must feel when this song comes on the radio...... |

~Jo, this is beautiful! I see by your comments the person you speak of who died at such a tender age....However, not knowing that while reading you stirred up so many thoughts and feelings of recent losses.... Thank you for this stirring piece ~P |

James Michael -- Thanks for your sweet post. Dixie -- yes, *sigh*, memories..... Jimmy -- yes, I think you're right about that; I thought I felt it. Amy -- Now, stop that crying....that was years ago and I believe he is in a better place. I was fortunate to have been touched by him and am grateful. Thanks for your compassion and your sweet response. Choshi -- Paul, I'm sorry for your loss. I tried to email but don't see an icon for that. Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on this one. |

Inkedgoddess -- you are a gem to have provided all the words. Thanks for your comments....and yes, there will never be a time I hear the song that it doesn't take me back to that time and the precious memories. |
