VANILLA CAKE Just sitting there with a slice of cake, on a fine paper plate. Frustrated because I couldn’t decide whether I even wanted it. Frustrated, because I wanted to write, and I knew I was going to write about you. Nothing was coming, so I just sat there, me and that cake, bored and sad. I couldn’t stop imagining you were sitting across from me. You would have been indecisive about which kind of cake you wanted, after all, they had five different kinds. I’d grow impatient while you mulled over the most ridiculous of decisions, and then finally, thank God, you would have chosen one. It’s vanilla, even though you hate vanilla. You’d choose it just because you know you won’t like it. Still, I would have gladly paid, and then watched irritated as you complained about your choice. I’d offer to get you something else, but you’d just keep going. We’d start arguing over the icing or something less important, and then I’d swear I’d buy the whole cake and make you eat it if you didn’t just calm down like a normal person would. You know, if you here right now, I could eat this cake in peace. |

I think this makes me chuckle. Funny how love is, aye? Susan The whole of the Universe resides within each individual heart. |

You make it all sound so simple... "why didn't you just say so?" Great read TD |

rainydaymusic -- you picked out something so simple and made it very profound, saying everything you needed to. I liked! |
