Today the wind stirred Passing through opened windows Setting the sheers all a flutter Carrying the breath of spring To brush across my cheek With whisper soft kisses Scented in lilac And it spoke my name With subtle temptation To close my eyes and let go Caught up in its waiting arms To carry me forth To trace the lands In reckless abandonment Going hither and yon Whatever the inclination Severing the ties That bind me to duty And for that moment I remember my youth And what it was To see the world Responsible to none Save myself To taste the salted air of the Caribbean Or ride the train along the Rhine To walk the slopes of the Alps Or smell the rich bouquet of French wine Ah, there are times When the wind blows just right And I am touched By whispering remembrances Of that time since passed When I was young And the world was mine. S.A.T. The whole of the Universe resides within each individual heart. |
