It began acquaintances of fire bath that washed our skins in aftermath
Long beyond initial connotations, into something swelled and fond
As I have heard of first and deepest cut, the truth bears out differently
A flickered remembrance licks my lips and comes to life again
Stronger and harder than what has ever been, two virgins we remain
Standing in each other’s gaze, beaded in a private blaze
Glistening in something sacred, fragrant oils streaming dual dreaming

And I recall the cleave of words you learned so long ago
That plucked the strings in me of self-doubt, sending my eyes to earth
Yet my heart cannot plummet for this sky is endless and eternal
What you lost gleams before me in a safe and sorrowed silver box
For it belongs to you and therefore is reverent in my eyes too
Yet gold remains the hold that sparkles in my soul
And commandeers these inner ears, a deeper prize in hallowed tears

But love allows the hear of ever echoed dreams endear
The path abandoned in our steps across this bridge of was
And I extend my arms in curved satin ribbons seeking you and only you
Our poetry is free, unfettered by the wishes of the mass assumptions
A compass leads the way to burn a trail that cannot in its gold find fail
You are my love, through all and not at all, if I should fall then plummet
To the center of your heart, terrain that I have traveled in a summer breeze

And you my beautiful man, require nothing more to rhyme or reason
I will not deny or treason ever any part of what is in your heart
And you remand of me these dreams that cast the mist from closed eyes
Adored in every whispered spirit wise and warm the flood
You course the channels of my blood in blue
And green our revelations, set softly into fair migrations
On a path more deeply red and real in its luminary constellations
