Met her in Starbucks sipping java she opened up so easily She talked fast but her passion seemed forced from hidden grief. Like desire that's gone mad her soul was stirred an restless an my dry hopes she unclad while she kept my interest tested I learned she owed her life's cares to a man that was married but he kept her dreams so impaired you could feel the weight she carried she longed to have her own say because she suffered from neglect so I met her there everyday and I paid her wish respect One day I asked her home to my place Because she'd loaned my heart her soul And she seemed so displaced I wanted her to know The past can be a prison where we all do time But everyone escapes somewhere down the line In the end there's no future that can keep the lonely out Because there's love to discover on the other side of doubt. So I tried to stroke her sore heart chords and ease the pain she'd reaped but she turned off as I was getting close and stared away from me. I could hear her heart when I'd begin my slow hands would shake her voice I'd speak soft cares to let her in but distance was her choice. Then late one night she came to me her face was blank unsure. So we talked to set her mind at ease like rain her heart thoughts poured the mind she spilled gave me a chill As she made confession quotes She said she had new dreams to fill as her heart filled up with hope So I asked her what was on her mind because I knew she'd come so clean. She said she'd done her time at last she could believe The past can be a prison where many have done time But everyone escapes somewhere down the line In the end there's no future that can keep the lonely out Because there's love to discover on the other side of doubt. That was the day she came to stay......fade......... [This message has been edited by ethome (05-30-2004 11:00 AM).] |

Eric Always, so well done!! And the wisdom in: "The past is just a prison where we all do time But everyone escapes somewhere down the line In the end there's no future that can keep the lonely out Because there's nothing left but lovers on the other side of doubt." I've done some time there. |

learned she owed her life's cares to a man that was married but he kept her dreams so impaired you could feel the weight she carried she longed to have her own say because she suffered from neglect so I met her there everyday and I paid her due respect Seems we all can drown our sorrows over coffee as easily as anything else As usual, 1st class m'friend. |
