I fell in love with the needle she said. Her leg jerking rhythmically as she spoke. It didn't matter, meth to coke coke to meth, from one lover to another searching for a substitute. I want to be normal again she said. A full time student instead of a full time addict. But I live on the edge live for excitement live for the needle and that's the point. I want to be a good mother she said. But lost the kids to my junkie high just a trophy on someone's arm getting high drinking beer. It's what I am good at she said, As she stared down at the crumpled papers in her hands..... **** this is a "found poem" recorded almost word for word and spoken by a young woman during a drug counseling session. I viewed a film of the session last week and when the lady started speaking "poetry" I took out my notebook. I understand she has recovered and is doing well.***** |

So often, those crumpled papers portray the very innocense lost... This was really very thoughtful, and glad for the happy ending. TD |

These days it seems no one is untouched by the consequences of bad decisions. Good post, Larry. |

If I ever faced a situation where I had to rescue possessions... my little pieces of paper that may or may not be poems one day would be second in priority only to my cat... clothes and credit cards and CDs would have to wait their turn... even if there's no hope of finding a treasure like this in the pile. *S* This is so powerful... so indicative that the choices we make can keep us from what we want and need as easily as lead us to our dreams. Excellent write! |

This touches deep, I can see why you wanted to share it. So sad that there are so many people, men and women, end up in that situation, Michelle I wish all could find the true happiness I have found,,in the eyes of Mike |

There's poetry out there all right--but it takes a poet's ear to find it. You have that, in abundance. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |
