inside
forlorn
and deep
there waits a wail
I give it not life
for mine it seeks
to take

my voice has been stolen
my utterances muted
in silence it waits
a lack of speech
its covering for
a slow
strangulation

if given the reigns
its potential
would quickly
overrun me
bridled or free roaming
there waits a wail
forlorn it seeks
to take

daily I pray the fight
against it
but honesty insists
I admit that my defense
is less than
halfhearted

Oh, my friend... this touches me deeply and in many ways... It's a powerful poem... I ache for my friend... and I know the stifling presence of a gag that makes words useless... the wail is more inviting than the fight. *S*

Excellent work!!!

DearestDearestLady~
The ache, oh the ache ... how it holds us prisoner-to-thoughts we wish we didn't have~
I am lifting you in prayer right this moment, reach for His hand ... He is ALWAYS there, my friend~

ALWAYS~

I do, honey.  In my own way.
I think you and I could write a book...
we could entitle it "Gut Soup".

This was painful to read, but I'm
glad that I did...your images are so
vivid...forever etched in the readers
mind, but I'm sure that is how you intend
it...very great write!
Take care,
Amy
