Life deals us all a hand of cards It is up to us how we play that hand For me, it's never been a question On my own two feet I stand I'm neither strong nor brave I just move on from day to day Sometimes I look up at the sky And wonder why things end up a certain way Though I carry pain inside It's a smile I wear on my face For at the end of it all Living on this earth isn't such a bad place I often wonder about love and life Why is it the things I want escape me Yet in some strange way I continue on I find peace in knowing that I'm free Free from what I'm not sure of The confusion hounds me as I write on this page I guess I just realise that life is real We aren't actors on a stage Reality sometimes hits hard It crashes into our world of make believe Sometimes things are the way they seem Other times they are far from how they are percieved "When life gives you sorrow, may you experience the spirit of laughter" |
