Lingering, this void, as large as
a cavern’s mouth, open...consuming.
Hungering to swallow the sun’s rays
that darkness might cover eyes
that glisten the dew of tearful thoughts.

When, I ask?  Might the rivers dry and
bring forth the cracked soils before the
healing waters again smooth the earth,
parched and in need of what cannot
be given...only felt with time.

My glass, once empty, filled to brimming
shimmer of countless coursing rivulets.
From eyes that seek again what cannot
walk the path.

Guide me, that I might fall upon the
fountain’s step and feel the sooth of
waters cool.

Hold me,   that I may let the sobs of
my anguish fly away, a mere speck
against the blue and cloudless skies
of what is wished to be.

The child of me wishes, waits to
feel again the hand that I held.
That I might not walk our path
alone

When you need it most...in the depths...it will be there. This I know. This is such a beautiful expression of those depths that I'm at a loss for other words.

Oh goodness, Barry. This really touched my heart.
I can only imagine how I'm going to feel when
I lose my parents. My Mom is such a good "friend".
My heart goes out to you.

Barry, these "blue and couldless skies" hold you dearly and reflect the beauty that leaks out through the tears of your sorrow.  I once had a thought...we breath in and out the very essense of all of those before us and they become one with us; then we become the offering of our ancesters, the best they had to give to this time.  There is so much love in that thought and  there is so much love in your writing.  Forgive me if I ramble.   ...jo

Magnus darling man, I can’t even begin to tell you how this makes my heart ache, I feel the sorrow and the loss so acutely, which just proves what an excellent writer you are.

The words are profoundly moving, the piece so incredibly crafted and I’m awed that you can write so beautifully under such a burden of sorrow.

If in the darkness of sorrow you need a hand to hold reach out and I’ll be there, take care my sweet friend and know you will see the light again

This describes the feeling so well.  I wish there was something I could do or say.
